PETERSEN MEDIA: As the World of Outlaws make their annual Fall Swing out West, stops in South Dakota and Montana overt the weekend kicked the trip off and Paul McMahan and Destiny Motorsports picked up 11th and 12th place finishes.

“It was just an average weekend for our team,” Paul McMahan said. “I am looking forward to getting out west where I have a lot of friends and family, and this trip is always fun and I’m hoping we can run well.”

Friday night at Black Hills Speedway, McMahan kicked the weekend of racing off by timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Champion Brand Lubricants No. 4 machine in 12th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA native turned Nashville, TN resident would finish in the fourth spot which lined him up 12th in the night’s feature event.

During a race that didn’t feature a ton of passing, McMahan raced with the likes of Greg Wilson and Kraig Kinser over the course of the 25-lap affair. Not able to make up any ground in the race, McMahan would take the checkered flag in the 12th spot.

Traveling to Billings, MT over night to compete at the Billings Motorsports Park on Saturday, McMahan would time in better on this night as he kicked his night off with the eighth fastest lap of the night during qualifying time trials.

Again finishing fourth in his heat race, McMahan would line up 11th on the grid for the 35-lap contest on this night. Fighting with Wilson and Kinser again on this night, McMahan would battle with Jason Sides as he looked for a spot inside the Top-10.

With Sides able to pull away from McMahan late in the race, McMahan would settle for an 11th place finish when the checkered flag flew.

“This team wants to be competing in the Top-10 and going after Top 5 finishes and wins, so we will look to do that in WA, OR, and CA,” McMahan noted. “We had a nice fall run last year, so I am hoping we can run well out West again the next few weeks.”
