PETERSEN MEDIA: Scheduled to kick off the All Star Circuit of Champions schedule last weekend until inclement weather cancelled the weekend, Parker Price-Miller and Destiny Motorsports made a return trip to Pennsylvania where they scored a sixth place finish on Friday and Williams Grove and a fourth place finish on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway as they now kick off the ASCoC schedule this week back in PA.
“We have had some really good speed in PA the last two weeks, and I have a lot of confidence going into the All Star opener this weekend back there,” Parker Price-Miller said. “My guys have worked really hard on getting me comfortable at some tracks I have struggled at in the past and it has been a lot of fun running well out there the last two weeks.”
Friday night’s action kicked off with PPM lining the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Townline Variety backed No. 4 up in the third row of his heat race at Williams Grove.
Battling hard with Lucas Wolfe, PPM would finish fifth which put him in the 14th starting position for the feature event. When the race went green on the famed ½ mile in Central PA, PPM showed his hand early as he started working his way forward very quickly.
Working through the Top-10, Price-Miller hooked up in a battle with Danny Dietrich for the sixth position in the running order. Able to clear Dietrich and take over sixth, PPM would lay down some of the fastest laps of anyone in the race as he chased after the pack of cars inside the Top-Five.
Unable to get to them, the Kokomo, IN driver closed his night out with a solid from 14th to sixth.
Saturday saw the team venture to Port Royal Speedway where a third place finish in heat race action moved PPM to the redraw where the eight pill put him in the fourth row for the ‘A’ Main.
The opening two circuits again saw him move forward at will as he worked into fifth. Looking to make a move on fourth, Price-Miller would misjudge his pass attempt and it would result in him getting into the wall and ending his night early.
Able to make repairs and move on to Sunday, Price-Miller and company would check in at BAPS Motor Speedway where he would continue to be extremely fast as he advanced to third from his fifth starting position in his heat.
Pulling the eight pill again for the feature, PPM would be scheduled to take the green flag from the fourth row. Officials would rule that Price-Miller was late to the track and would put him to the back of the pack where he would then take the green flag from the 20th starting position.
On a surface that was extremely racy, Price-Miller drove a little agitated as he put on a clinic from the back of the pack. Working high and low, Price-Miller would work up to the fourth position late in the race as he then pressured Greg Hodnett for the final position on the podium.
Able to get alongside Hodnett on a couple of occasions, PPM would take the checkered flag with an extremely hard fought fourth place finish.
“We had great speed at all three tracks, and I feel we had one of the fastest cars all weekend against some extremely tough competition,” PPM added. “I am curious to know what the outcome would have been on Sunday had we not been penalized but rules are rules. It was a fun weekend, and I have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers as well as all of our partners for their continued support.”
