PETERSEN MEDIA: A break in the All Star Circuit of Champions schedule allowed Parker Price-Miller and Destiny Motorsports to take in three World of Outlaws events over the weekend and PPM would score a pair of Top-10’s with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’.
“Friday I didn’t show up for the feature event and it showed, but Saturday and Sunday went well,” Parker Price-Miller said. “It was nice to get back to a few World of Outlaws races to see how we would stack up after running with the All Stars this year, and it went well. We can still get better and I know my guys work every day to do so.”
Friday night the big weekend of racing kicked off at Eldora Speedway as part of #LetsRaceTwo weekend. Timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Townline Variety No. 4 in 15th fastest in time trials, the Kokomo, IN driver would finish fourth and punch his ticket into the feature event.
Gridding the field from the 15th starting position, Price-Miller admitted to making numerous mistakes as he trended the wrong direction and finished back in 23rd.
Looking for redemption on Saturday, the ASCoC Rookie of the Year contender would time in seventh quickest in time trials before hooking up in an entertaining battle with Donny Schatz in his heat race.
Going back and forth with Schatz, Price-Miller would finish second which would be good enough to earn him a spot in the Sears Craftsman Dash. From his front row starting position, Price-Miller and the nine-time series champion would again wage war on each other with PPM’s second place finish putting him on the front row for the feature event.
When the green flag dropped, PPM jumped on the fun button, and surged out to the early lead with Schatz riding in his wake. Leading the first five laps of the feature event, Price-Miller would look very strong running along the famed Eldora wall.
Seeing Schatz get by him running through the middle, Price-Miller would try to counter by continuing to stay up top but he would lose a couple of positions and change his game plan.
A couple of late restarts would not be too kind to Price-Miller but when the dust settled on the main event he would leave Eldora with a sixth place finish.
Sunday brought on an event that Price-Miller has had circled on his calendar; a return to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN where he won his first career World of Outlaws event back in 2017.
With time trials and heat race not going how the team had hoped, wholesale changes were made to the Agee Farms/CSI Shocks/Triple X entry prior to the B Main, and they would seem to be to ‘The Law Firm’s’ liking as he would finish second and keep his night going.
Moving into the feature event, Price-Miller would have his work cut out for him, as he would take the green flag from the 22nd starting position. An extremely racy surface allowed PPM to put on a show as he was able to slice and dice his way through the field.
Doing everything he could to gain positions, Price-Miller would end his weekend as the KSE Hard Charger by way or working his way forward to finish eighth.
“Saturday at Eldora was really good with how we had been there in the past,” Price-Miller said. “Sunday was disappointing for me personally with how well I had ran there in the past, but we did a really good job in the feature and passed a lot of good cars. I have to thank my crew for working so hard, as well as Rick and Barb Rogers and all of our partners for their continued support.”
