PETERSEN MEDIA: A grueling nine-day tour through Ohio has come and gone for Parker Price-Miller and Destiny Motorsports, and of the seven races that were able to be ran, a charge from 22nd-fifth at Sharon Speedway highlighted the week for Price-Miller and company.
“It is a tough week, and unfortunately things didn’t go our way at times,” Price-Miller said. “My guys worked extremely hard and we had a lot of speed we just couldn’t seem to put full nights together.”
Opening the week up at Attica Raceway Park with a 17th place finish, night two saw the team pick up a nice sixth place finish at Eldora Speedway after taking the green flag from the ninth starting position.
Recording another Top-10 on Father’s Day at Waynesfield Raceway Park, Price-Miller would look to string together another strong run aboard his MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading entry at Wayne County on Monday night.
Having some struggles to start the night, PPM would ultimately be forced to take a provisional to start the feature event as he would take the green flag from the 26th starting position. Working his way forward during the feature, Price-Miller would finish 19th on this night.
Traveling to Sharon Speedway on Tuesday night, Price-Miller would again get off to a slow start but would put the Townline Variety/Agee Farms/CSI Race Shocks entry in the feature event after transferring out of the ‘B’.
Lining up 22nd in the feature event, PPM would be involved in an early tangle that forced him into the work area where the Destiny Motorsports crew would go to work. Able to make repairs, the Kokomo, IN driver would rejoin the field again at the back of the pack.
With a very sport Destiny Motorsports entry underneath him, PPM had his elbows up and made his lunch money by working right up against the wall. Moving forward at will, PPM would awe the crowd with an extremely hard fought run that saw him cap the night off with a fifth place finish.
Atomic Speedway on Wednesday night saw Price-Miller scheduled to take the green flag from the fourth row. With Mother Nature having her way, the feature would be pushed back until the series returned to the track on Saturday to close the week out.
Wednesday night’s rain followed the series Thursday and Friday and washed out stops at Limaland, and Muskingum, and Ohio Speedweek would return to Atomic Speedway on Saturday night to run the double feature program to end the week.
Taking a hard crash while battling for position in the make up feature, the Destiny Motorsports team would pull a back up car down for the Ohio Speedweek finale.
Timing in second quickest in time trials for the night program, Price-Miller would get out of shape in heat race and it would result in him finishing back in eighth.
Winning the semi, Price-Miller would move forward from his 21st starting position to close Ohio Speedweek out with an 18th place finish.
“I really have to thank my guys for everything they do for me,” PPM added. “It was a tough week to begin with and unfortunately I created some added work for them. It was fun, but we were hoping for some better results. I also have to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for continuing to support us, as well as all of our partners for their continued support. Aside from on track racing, it was a tough weekend for our racing community. I’m still kind of in shock that we lost Jason Johnson and am really at a loss for words about it.”
