PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting a couple of race weekends to gel and get used to each other on Brock Zearfoss’ home turf, Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports will venture into Ohio as they eye Dirt Classic Ohio that is slated for this Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park before closing the weekend out at Wayne County Speedway on Sunday.
“I think we were much better than our results showed this past weekend, but it is still a learning curve with myself and the guys,” Zearfoss said. “If we continue to take it race by race, we will continue to get better and better but overall I am pleased with the direction we are headed and the progress we have made thus far.”
A four-race stretch in the Keystone State provided a great opportunity for Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports to really figure some things about each other out on some familiar venues to the ‘Jonestown Jet’.
Grandview last Thursday night opened the mini-speedweek up as Zearfoss timed the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Moose’s LZ Bar and Grill entry in sixth quickest before racing to a fifth place finish in his heat race.
Lining up in the sixth row of the feature event, Zearfoss would hold his own as he fought for a position inside the Top-10. As the laps clicked off, Zearfoss would get a little sportier towards the end of the race, but on the 27th lap he would get upside-down and his night would come to an early end.
Heading to Williams Grove Speedway Friday night for the Jack Gunn Memorial looking to put Thursday night behind himself quickly, Zearfoss would time in fifth fastest before a seventh place finish in his heat race.
Following a win in the ‘B’ Main, Zearfoss would go on to charge from 21st to finish 14th in the first 20-lap feature event, before a strong run in A feature No. 2 netted him a Top-10 as he finished eighth.
Traveling to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night, Zearfoss would admittedly have one of the better cars he’s had at the track as he put on a heck of a charge in the feature event starting 20th and earning an 11th place finish when all was said and done.
Sunday night a trip to BAPS Motor Speedway would wrap up an extended stay in the Keystone State where Zearfoss would close a busy week out with a 12th place finish.
“We will keep getting better moving forward,” Zearfoss added. “Looking forward to this weekend and getting into Ohio. Huge thanks to all of these guys for their hard work, as well as Rick and Barb Rogers for believing in me.”
