PETERSEN MEDIA: With weather shortening a scheduled three-race weekend to just one night, Terry McCarl and Destiny Motorsports were able to record a seventh place finish at Lake Ozark Speedway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“We had a good heat race, and started the feature in the best spot would could have without racing on Saturday night,” Terry McCarl said. “Unfortunately I misjudged the track and we were just too tight. Still, god to pick up another Top-10 against a strong field of cars.”
With Knoxville’s two nights of racing both getting washed out, McCarl and company made the trip to Lake Ozark Speedway on Sunday night.
Drawing for heat race starting position, the Altoona, IA driver would line the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/TheSnowPlow.com backed No. 4 machine up in the second row. On a racy track, TMAC would methodically work his way forward as he got into the second position when the checkered flag flew.
Sitting well in points following heat races, McCarl would find himself in the redraw where he would end up gridding the field from the ninth position as he was not in attendance during Saturday’s event.
Admittedly misreading the track and missing the set up on his machine, McCarl would fight a tight racecar as he kept his machine inside the Top-10 during the feature event.
Battling with the likes of Blake Hahn and Sean McClelland in the race’s waning laps, McCarl would cap his night off with a seventh place finish.
“Thanks to everyone who continues to support our race team and allow us to do what we love,” McCarl added. “Looking forward to getting to Nashville, TN this weekend.”
